This moisturizer by Anavita comes in the prettiest packaging!  I'm a sucker for attractive packaging and this one looks beautiful sitting on my bathroom counter.  It is a 1.7 fl oz jar, so not very big, but a little goes a long way.  It arrives with a plastic seal around the outside of the jar for protection.  Once you remove the seal and open it up, it has another plastic cover on the inside.  I appreciate that this cream is completely sealed and protected.  I have had several items arrive in the mail that leak due to cheap packaging.  

Like I mentioned before, it does come in a jar.  I prefer creams or serum that are packaged in a pump as they tend to be less messy.  However, this jar is so beautiful  it screams, "you know you want to open me up"!!  Anyways, lets move on the how I apply the product.  

DAILY ROUTINE

After using your regular cleanser, pat your face dry. It is a thick rich cream that feels really good on my dry skin. You only need about a pearl size amount and you can dab it on your face, neck and décolleté and then gently massage in the skin with upward motions.  

It has a light citrus scent that I have come to enjoy.  It is not a strong perfume scent that is annoying or irritating, but a scent that is pleasant and calming.  Remember, this is a thicker cream and takes a little while to dry.  I like to apply my serums first and then this moisturizer as my last step.  I have tried to use it in the morning and have found that it does not do well under my makeup.  Using it at night or on the weekends (makeup free days) has been a better solution for me.

Cons

• Not the best moisturizer to use underneath makeup, it's a little thick.  It works great as a night cream in my case.

My final thoughts on this product are pretty good.  I think this cream is a great night time moisturizer and does well with dry skin.  It is on the heavier side and does not do to great under makeup.  However, it completely moisturizes my my skin all through the night and when I wake up my skin still feels hydrated.  If you would like to learn more about Anavita anti wrinkle cream, you can find it on Amazon.com.

Dash Mate / Cell Phone Vent mount Holder Review + Giveaway

I have been through so many cell phone mounts/holders that I have lost count.  I have spent $$ on some pretty fancy ones that promise to never break...and guess what....they always break!  My last cell phone car holder was a mounted dash type.  It worked pretty good until I decided to move it.  After I moved it, it never stuck again to my dash or my window surface.  I was excited to try the Dash Mate Cell Vent Holder as I had never tried any vent holders before.  Here is an up close look at it's design.

Pretty simple design, right? It is small, but holds the phone tightly in the vent.

These are pictures of the mount in my husbands police car.  Please excuse the all the weird looking wires on his dash.  As you can see, it fits perfectly in his vent and he likes that it is small and out of the way.  He has a lot going on in his vehicle and having a small vent mount like this is just what he needed.  I tried to use it in my vehicle (Hummer H2) and was unsuccessful.  My vents are round and the mount will not fit these type of vents.  The directions/packaging does indicate this.....but I gave it a try anyways.  

I like that this mount is small, lightweight, sturdy, and works perfectly!  It has strong teeth and does not come off the vent when releasing the phone...it stays put.  Don't spend $$ on a fancy/bulky car mount holder that will break in a month....get the Dash Mate Cell Phone Vent Holder for everyone in your family.  Heck, they are so affordable, you can get one for everyone in your neighborhood!

Many of you know how much I love my Retinol....I mean really love my Retinol!!  I have tried two other brands over the past few months and I want to tell you about a new one I have been trying.  It is the Forlan Retinol moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera.  It comes in a standard pump and has a light pleasant fragrance.  

I tried the Forlan Hyaluronic Acid a few months back and fell in love with the product!  I was so excited to the their new Retinol product that I quit using all my other serums and moisturizers.  I have been using just this product for the last week and to no surprise....I love it.  Here is the official description from Amazon:

I’ve been intrigued by all of the serums out there right now and was really excited to get Valentia’s Even Glow Serum – Vitamin C 20% for review. The key ingredients include:

Final Thoughts

PROS: Smells great, does what the brand says it will do, minimizes pores’size, wrinkles, dark spots, and blemishes, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, all natural, small amounts per use, lifetime guaranteed, moisturizing, refreshing, etc. 

CONS: The bottle still could be a little bigger (as for me), the packaging makes it sometimes hard to dispense the right amount of product.

Comes with a dropper (wish it was in a pump).

I am very happy to see that it contains Hyaluronic Acid and Green Tea.  Resistem is a new ingredient for me.  I have never heard of it before but I have no complaints as it seems to only benefit my skin.  

I did have a bit of an issue using the serum under my makeup.  It was like mixing oil and water....my primer and foundation slid off my face.  I decided that I would use this serum at night, before bed, and that has been a great decision.

It completely hydrates my skin and my moisturizer locks in this moisture.  I wake up in the morning with skin that is still soft and hydrated.  I really like the scent of this serum....its like walking through a field of orange trees.  It comes with a dropper as a method of dispensing.  I would prefer a pump and feel that pumps are much less messy.  My last serum was in a pump and I was able to get every last drop out.  Lastly, it has a bit of a yellow color to the serum.  Most serums are clear or whitish in color.  This yellow color is normal.

Overall, I think its a nice serum offering the highest percentage of vitamin C (22%).  It feels great on my skin and offers several anti aging benefits.  The only issue I had was using it under my makeup.  If you run into this issue as well, try it as a night time serum.

This is the Gemstone Dig Kit and my daughter Riley was very excited to "dig" into this!  It comes with everything you need to be your very own archaeologist.  Here is the complete kit description from Amazon.

The packaging is very fun and interesting.  It has a kooky character named Dr. Cool who makes "digging" fun.  My daughter noticed that the box said it would have three gemstones: Tigers Eye, Quartz, and Amethyst.  So she knew how many stones to find, and when she found them all.  It does come with some digging tools but my daughter found them to be a bit difficult.  The tools were not quit strong enough to break through the rock.  She asked me to go get the hammer!  Now, I didn't get the hammer but I did get her a screwdriver.   She needed a stronger tool with more ump!  Once she found the first stone she used the brush to dust it off.  Her favorite stone was the Quartz and she loved that it had purple in it.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this is a fun and educational gemstone digging kit.  It lets you learn about the stones and feel like a real treasure hunter.  It can be a bit messy so I recommend laying down a sheet or towel to collect the debris.  The rocks contained in the kit are big and clean up beautifully.  It was a fun afternoon project that got my daughter asking more questions about gemstones.  Not all toys are educational, but this one has lasting benefits.  On the downside, it is a one-time use kit.  However, she gets to keep the stones and tell people that she "discovered them".
