Have you ever wanted to weigh an ingredient or need to know how much postage to put on a package? I have needed to know both of these things this month with baking my holiday tins and shipping my Christmas packages. In the past, I would try to "eye ball" a measurement needed for baking but my pastries and cookies never came out not quite right. I would also try to "guess" the weight of a package, only to find out that I was way off. I am a new eBay seller and I like to print my shipping labels from home. The problem is, you need to know the exact weight of the package. Up until now, I was never confident printing my tables at home. I now have peace of mind that my packages will not get returned for insufficient postage. I was given the chance to review the Smart Weigh Pro Pocket Digital Scale and share my opinion with you. It could not have come at a more perfect time!
The scale comes packaged with two plastic lids, one to protect the weight platform and the other to protect the entire scale. It is a beautiful contemporary design with a stainless platform and chrome buttons. Rubber grips are placed at the four corners of the scale for extra sturdiness. It is compact enough for travel but would also look nice sitting on a kitchen counter. The plastic covers do a great job at keeping it protected and away from dirt and dust. Here are the specific features from Amazon:
- Features - the top2kg is strong, accurate, fast, and user-friendly; will work great for any of your mailing, jewelry, reloading, and cooking needs
- Functions - this scale can double up as a postal scale; the pcs function gives you an accurate count and the hold function will lock weight readings
- Design - features a clear LCD screen lit by a bright blue backlight; will display readings in g, OZ, OZT, dwt, GN, and CT
- Precision - manufactured with high precision sensors to provide the most accurate weight readings; weighs up to 2000 grams in 0.1 Increments
- Includes - 2 AAA batteries with a two minute auto shut off feature; the tare function will provide a net weight
This scale is one of those items I really needed but never took the time to actually get one. I relied on "guessing" and "eye balling" weights for so long I had no idea how off I was. No wonder my recipes didn't turn out! This scale allowed me to bake with confidence this holiday season and my Christmas cookies turned out delicious.
The best part about this scale is the TARE & HOLD feature. I found out that I could weigh ingredients that require a measuring glass/cup (I have a 2 oz plastic measuring cup) and I could TARE the scale so it would remove the weight of the cup. I can accurately measure the ingredients before adding them to my scale. The TARE feature will subtract the weight of any cup/glass/box or container to calculate the net weight. Also, I found out that not all scales are created equal. They all have different height/weight capacities that range from 500g to 2000g. This particular scale has the height/weight capacity of 2000g/70.74oz meaning I can weigh an item up to 70.74oz or 4.4lbs.
Final Thoughts
A pocket scale is something everyone needs in their life. At sometime or another you will need to weight something, so why not be accurate? The Smart Weigh Pro Pocket Digital Scale is compact, accurate, and sleek. It offers the highest weight capacity (2000g), optional modes and functional capabilities. I can now ship my eBay items with confidence saving me from the embarrassment of having packages "returned to sender" for insufficient postage. This is a very useful tool for me and I can't imagine why I haven't thought of getting a pocket scale before. You can read more about the Smart Weigh Pro Pocket Scale on Amazon.

Wow what a cool little pocket scale! I love the shape of it, reminds me of the scales at the supermarket a little bit. And you are right, it is definitely important to be sure of weight when you're shipping packages!
